Owned & Operated - A film about Humanity and the World we've built for Ourselves

A new, Zeitgeist-inspired documentary, titled 'Owned & Operated'. The film takes a look at the world as it is, and the path we are currently headed down, as well as the world-wide awakening that's begun to take place. The film ends on a cautiously optimistic view of the future, and attempts to show us that the human race is not just a wasted experiment.

“35 million people in the U.S. are hungry or don't know where their next meal is coming from, and 13 million of them are children. If another country were doing this to our children, we'd be at war.” -Jeff Bridges

The film attempts to present these events using the video, audio and written content uploaded to the internet by the collective human consciousness comprised of every individual participant.

This is a not-for-profit project, but we're attempting to use the film as a springboard to bring together other activist minded creative professionals and build a community online that fosters the development of resources needed for individuals to create higher quality awareness minded media projects in the future. The community forum is located here.

Owned and Operated Documentary - Goldman Sachs, Exxon Mobil Monsanto, FDA, Halliburton, General Electrics, Citigroup, Wall Street, JP Morgan, Technology, Science, Venus Project
“Just look at us. Everything is backwards. Everything is upside down. Doctors destroy health, lawyers destroy justice, universities destroy knowledge, governments destroy freedom, the major media destroy information, and religion destroys spirituality.” -Michael Ellner

“Let's stop fighting over who we believe created the planet and work together against those that choose to destroy it.” -Jack Barker, political activist & blogger

  1. I like the movie. I'm sharing it.

    1. Totally agree about the music -- too distracting -- the message is overcome by the 'music'. I think there would be more viewers who watched the entire movie if the music was changed. The ones that bail because of the dischordant music don't get to see the more positive message at the end of the movie.

    2. Yeah... it's not even the music itself I think... It's more about the volume... It's hard to get what they are saying underneath all that volume! GREAT movie tho. The revolution wont be televised but it is overdue and imminent!

  3. The rich people made this crisis to reduce number of population and to enslave the poor people.Criminality grow, gangs, mafia, a lot of people commit suicide and we think the politicians can fix this situation, but the politicians are paid of corporations.NO HOPE ,NO FUTURE!.

    1. There is always hope, you must hold on to that. As for the future, it will always be there, we just have to go with it. Of course we try and control it, but it's going to be like controlling a hot air balloon, there's a tiny bit of maneuvering, but we're just rolling on that breeze. But if building 4 goes at Fukushima, then it doesn’t even matter. Question for you, how many people do you think know about Fukushima these days?

    2. actually they done want to reduce population they love over population... population control is a lie more the people the more tax money govt get from the people

      Delete
    3. That is insane, people making under 15,000 a year don't pay taxes they get everything back, and they use social programs designed to help them survive if just barely.

    4. Just my opinion but I think they are already reducing our population by: feeding us all the GMO foods (which, when fed to rats, are said to reduce their fertility by the second generation; providing cheap unhealthy foods that make us sick and obese (and thereby giving us diabetes, heart disease, and other diseases); and by allowing foods in our system that are banned in other countries. The rich can buy organic but the poor can't afford organic so they die young. I don't think it is the rich-it is our government. The FDA, in my opinion, isn't doing their job. Why can't they require GMO labeling? Why do they let companies sell food that has been banned in other countries?

  4. I like the idea of needing a change from how the current systems of government and etc. are doing things. However, I do not agree that the use of technology will help facilitate the change in a positive way that this video suggests. There are indigenous people all over the earth who had no "technology" in a Western sense of the word, but they were able to do amazing things within the environment they shared and coexisted in. I think the earth already has answers and solutions to a lot of our questions in how we need to live. I do not believe more scientific advancements and technology will produce the effect we hope they will. It's time to go back and watch and learn from the earth and to live in a more simple and humble way...not in a progressively scientific and artificial way with technology. The animals and trees and nature already know what to do and how to do it. We just need to stop and listen and learn.

    1. I think the view of ancient indigenous cultures as non-technological is inherently racist and historically inaccurate. Without technology? What sort of society makes pyramids that align to stellar phenomenon without technology? the 'west' didn't create technology, they were gradually fed it and most of it was imported from the rest of the world

    2. I can understand why some people, just like you, want to abandon technology. We all have a desire to get out of the way of life we have become accustomed to. Being sedated by iphones and movies and video games has become commonplace, and many people see it is not the way we should be living. However, if we utilized these various forms of technology in the proper way, not only could we change our culture so that everyone has access to their fill of food, water, and shelter, but we could do it in a way where abundance is commonplace and our workload is minimal. The problem is not technology, it is how we use it. I myself went through a stage thinking it would be best to abandon all forms of technology and just live in the woods. But I have realized that if we come together and use these technological resources in the proper way, we could create a society far richer than I ever imagined. And by rich, I mean happy and healthy.

Ps. Amazing video. I am getting to the point where I cannot understand how everyone doesnt realize this, including my friends and family. We MUST help people to wake up, before it too late. Thank you for doing your part with this documentary.

  7. i believe we can use robots to do all our things we like to do such as amusements and fixing things, they will love it bc we will teach them to love it, and they would love it and know love, and people dont have to deal with technology, we will use free energy methods and recycling to do away with any need to destroy nature, also we have all the ability to stop our killing of animals as much as humans will not eat it, not to say natives or meat eaters are wrong, but less killing leads to less teaching to kill which gives u less killing. Peace n Love always <3 -chuck

I did my B.A. in Media Technology & Arts so please let me know if I could be of any help with graphics or other stuff as well.

  13. Gary Numan's M.E. It's about the last intelligent machine on earth, A Robot programmed to kill in wars with great success. left alone, after every human has died.
    Music Video on YOUTUBE; ( http://youtu.be/Wea8ZQ0II4g )

    And M.E. I eat dust
    We're all so run down
    I'd call it my death
    But I'll only fade away
And I hate to fade alone
    Now there's only M.E.

    We were so sure
    We were so wrong
    Now it's over
But there's no one left to see
And there's no one left to die

    Why should I care
    Why should I try
    Oh no, oh no
    I turned off the pain
Like I turned off you all
    Now there's only M.E.

  20. you cant honestly believe that all 8 billion people on the planet can live like westerners, the resources we've used to create our lifestyles and technologies is destroying the planet, and the only reason we got the funding to research and develop this is through greed and corruption, big business!!! with that you must have poverty and slavery. the only fair and balanced world is a purely natural one. with the rising 3 billion they speak of seeking the lifestyle we live can only happen by taking it from us, are you willing to give up your comfortable lifestyle?? this is all a utopian view, not a real possabilty people. technology and greed is what has destroyed the world, it can not be the answer aswell!!! there will be a new coming but it will be mother earth ridding herself of the plague of humanity, we are a disease!!!

  23. About that quote up there: I think it's pretty absurd of rich celebrities to be pointing fingers about child poverty & then turning around and going home to their millions. We are ALL at fault, but "compassionate" rich people have much less of an excuse. They visit refugee camps, when the clothes on their backs at the time could feed any of those families for a year. In a way, it's worse than some of these neolibs/cons/same-things, who don't really even disguise the fact that they don't give a crap.

I really respect Daryl Hannah, who was arrested for trying to block the bulldozers for that Trans-American pipeline that's in development and for which the State Department has given the green light. An older woman lost her family's house and land to immanent domain, and the two of them laid down in front of the machines, and got arrested. That, I respect.

But next time one of them wins an Academy Award for "shining the spotlight" on some human rights violation, unless they're wearing an inexpensive outfit with fake jewelry and came riding up to the door in a regular car, they shouldn't even open their mouths about how progressive Hollywood is, and yes, that means you, George Clooney and Al Gore the hypocrites (nice job selling Current TV to Al Jazeera with their oil-based economy of Qatar).

  29. There was madness in any direction, at any hour. If not across the Bay, then up the Golden Gate or down 101 to Los Altos or La Honda. . . . You could strike sparks anywhere. There was a fantastic universal sense that whatever we were doing was right, that we were winning. . . .

And that, I think, was the handle—that sense of inevitable victory over the forces of Old and Evil. Not in any mean or military sense; we didn’t need that. Our energy would simply prevail. There was no point in fighting—on our side or theirs. We had all the momentum; we were riding the crest of a high and beautiful wave. . . .

So now, less than five years later, you can go up on a steep hill in Las Vegas and look West, and with the right kind of eyes you can almost see the high-water mark—that place where the wave finally broke and rolled back.”
