Culture Is Not Your Friend

Terence McKenna on the impact of culture on our lives. Taken from a lecture called "Psychedelics In The Age Of Intelligent Machines" (27 April 1999 - Seattle). Created by The Omega Point Project.

“We are told 'no', we're unimportant, we're peripheral. 'Get a degree, get a job, get a this, get a that.' And then you're a player, you don't want to even play in that game. You want to reclaim your mind and get it out of the hands of the cultural engineers who want to turn you into a half-baked moron consuming all this trash that's being manufactured out of the bones of a dying world.” -Terence McKenna

Your Indoctrination

“Those who are able to see beyond the shadows and lies of their culture will never be understood, let alone believed, by the masses.” -Plato (427–347 BC)

“We are not taught to be thinkers, but reflectors of our culture. Let's teach our children to be thinkers.” -Jacque Fresco

  4. It's all true. But tell me... What is my cure? I'm completely outside of all this bullshit they pump up in people's heads. And? One thing I can say - I have nothing. How am I supposed to live in world like this? Should I kill myself immediately? Each of you know that today there is no place for such people. I just feel like I'm in a trap with no way out. Without school, job, blablabla, and at the end with dirty documents due to playing guitar on the streets (and a jail because of that - that was not long, but hey, it's a jail - just for playing guitar people!!!). So now, after all this shit in my life, I'm completly confused and without any perspectives. That's sad, but true. I'm completly broken. My mind and heart are fu***** burning because of rage that sneeringly smiles deep inside me.

    Greetings.

    P.S.
Sorry for my language, English is not the one I use every day.

  7. lucky my being a massage therapist taught me to be very ambidextrious using my left hand, as much as my right, then taking it step further and teaching myself to write left handed, definitely using the out of the box side of my brain, I never was one to conform to what society says, society is just a big brain washing experience. For the sake of control....
