People are not being educated; they're being tested for levels of obedience. School is about memorizing what you are told short term and repeating it. The bulk of how you are graded is by completing daily work. Obedience is, in fact, work force's most important quality in a worker bee.
“School is the advertising agency which makes you believe that you need the society as it is.” -Ivan Illich
“When Students cheat on exams it's because our School System values grades more than Students value learning.” -Neil deGrasse Tyson
“The aim of public education is not to spread enlightenment at all; it is simply to reduce as many individuals as possible to the same safe level, to breed a standard citizenry, to put down dissent and originality.” -H.L. Mencken
When children start going to school, not only they spend most of their day in the classroom, but they start being conditioned to the 8 to 5 schedule which will be the blueprint of their future.
Let's highlight the main points that the education system is very successful in imprinting on the minds of our children:
- Truth comes from Authority
- Intelligence is the ability to remember and repeat
- Accurate memory and repetition are rewarded
- Non compliance is punished
- Conform: Intellectually and socially
“Everybody is a genius. But if you judge a fish by its ability to climb a tree, it will live its whole life believing that it is stupid.” -Albert Einstein
“The illiterate of the 21st century will not be those who cannot read and write, but those who cannot learn, unlearn, and relearn.” -Alvin Toffler
Education should be a process of stimulating and awakening people at the core of their being, thereby enabling them to sense the reality of interconnectedness, to appreciate the infinite potential in each person, in order to unlock and develop the power within to create happiness.

ReplyDeleteso what can be done? we all know this is not good for our true inner self yet we all say we have no choice..!! im sick of hearing this.. my girl is 5 and I don't like the fact that she goes to skool and is getting brainwashed and yes I may be able to show her other ways.. but maybe our parents did with us until it got to the point we listened no more..to sucked in as kids..i wish we could do something eles take real action not just talk.. if we all woke up and said no more.. im not going skool im not paying bills... im living for me and the now. we all keep saying this and that .. I think we all said nuff and now is the time to take somekindda action..while we still have our inner minds
ReplyDeleteYou are absolutely correct about systems not being good for our inner selves and you are not alone in feeling that something must be done. To affect real change you are right that everyone would have to stop the line. Stop working, stop consuming, stop feeding the machine. If enough people decided to unify and do this all at the same time it wouldn't take long for governments and corporations to have to comply. I just read your comment and didn't want you to feel helpless. You can teach your daughter at every opportunity to make her aware of programming in schools, commercials, marketing, teach your daughter to trust herself, to know that everything else is an illusion and a game. The only thing that is real is what we feel and how we treat eachother. You are the best teacher for your daughter. Hang in there! I have three girls and I have found humor is magical. It transforms situations. When your daughter is old enough The Simpsons is excellent society satire. As long as you watch it with her to explain what's going on. Peace.
DeleteA documentary a day keeps the bull$%^# at bay.
Deleterofl!! you made my day hahaha :p
DeleteIt all starts with YOU homeboy. If you don't have the balls to set your own example then you are a part of the problem. You have the knowledge. USE IT.
DeleteTake responsibility for your children. Homeschool.
DeleteIf you want to combat what the teachers do then always ask your children w
Deletehat they think. Keep up dialoge with tjem. Have them start diaries and try to show them different sides of everything. Tell them no lies. Show tjem that everyone around tjem is being lied to. But keep them in school necause there is good as well as bad there
Perhaps you should check your self before you so harshly judge people who spend countless years learning about child development, the latest research in education and how they can apply that to a class of thirty kids from homes where parents like you can't even use correct grammer in a basic sentence.
DeleteHey Anonymous - I've been thinking (and preaching) that exact thing for ages now. Nobody listens. We need more movies like Network (1976). You've got to get MAD!
ReplyDeleteI now study 3D Filmdesign. The process of learning there is completely different from what you get at a public school. I nearly flunked every class at public school from 1-10th and been to countless meetings where the teachers tried to realize that if I "continue like this" I will have no future.
ReplyDeleteAfter I started in 3D Filmdesign I havent gotten anything below a B.
Has *anyone* there gotten anything below a B?
DeleteSchools are from the industrial revolution and they still have all the same features that schools have when they first started out. It's time to change it all
ReplyDelete“Intelligence is the ability to remember and repeat" Intelligence is more, finding solutions or options to solve unknown situation. Creative individuals must be educated to meet more factors that influence positive thinking. Help talented poor.
ReplyDeleteCorruption is even in schools. Private universities give diplomas to “ mentally Ltd.” persons, cause they paid studding. My child will not end excursion in Mc.Donald+Coke as main award, cause this child knows to chose, like/or dislike and is not average.
Education, information, personal development, parents can stand for creative child against globalization.
There are so many grammar errors in this post! Example: "This is for the work force the most important quality in a worker bee actually is obedience."
ReplyDeleteTo be leaders, our children need to be good communicators. Let's ensure they receive an adequate education to transform society, no matter what source they receive their education from.
They are called 'grammatical errors' - and they are fixed :)
DeleteYou guys are totally right. Eduction SUCKS. They should teach how to wake up and how to bring this system down.
ReplyDeleteI think you mean education not eduction ! Or moreover, perhaps you mean the current education system.
ReplyDeleteDamn i hate this "education" system. It's a complete fraud, the only thing they should teach us is reading and writing. This thing, about repeating the same god damn thing over and over again & explaning it only one way is absurd! I realized it in this school year, 4th grade of highschool, my grades started to drop because in maths, you have to remember 1million equations and if you don't, they'll call you stupid, uneducated and have no future. EXCUSE ME!? Just now, right before our mid-year exam, they "taught" us a new chapter. That's ridiculous! Give us some more equations to remember that dont have anything to do with the exam. I dont need to remember these shitty equations when i can just open a book and take them from there.
ReplyDeleteFor sure, the system is really not made for building up fulfilled people but I have one question still before I can say "fuck it all!": how do you actually get a decent living if you do not get to learn from what the system teaches you? I am not sure what possibilities exist to live just fine outside the system and education it provides. I look forward to anyone's input here, cheers :)
ReplyDeleteI love coming across the information in this post, no matter how many times I see it. The learning I have had from the internet alone has been much more fulfilling and rewarding the past several years than all my years of formal education at several schools and institutions.
ReplyDeleteAs a young teacher, I couldn't stay in a system that is morally against what I believe. No matter where I taught; Canada, Asia, Caribbean, Europe, the things I hated about the system always appeared beneath the surface of cultural differences. I left teaching after only 6 years, I hated being part of something where I would have just passed on whatever curriculum (or lies) that the suits, admins and governments told me to teach rather than help students awaken and open their eyes to the wonders of this world through curiosity, genuine interest, and a desire to reach higher potentials for themselves and humanity.
The best I can hope for is that 'awakened' parents will give their children today an education from their example, show them how to be good human beings, and they will see the difference and artificiality of schools.
There is home schooling and some charter schools are doing fantastic work, but if you can't get into one, then it's a matter of playing the game in the system we know, the game of of the standardized tests, and knowing better that what they think about you holds little merit in the bigger picture.
As a teacher it was heartbreaking, frustrating and ridiculous the kind of stupidity I encountered from other teachers. So many teachers I've worked with don't care, don't like kids, work for the weekend. I guarantee you will find several teachers at every public school like this.
Tests can't ever measure enthusiasm, curiosity, motivation, empathy, creativity, and humor, just to name a few.
Our descendants will look back on this time as when the systems of control of old are ending. Banking, money, schools, work, governments, borders, enslavement, they all no longer serve us and hold us back.
Cheers to you all, wake up, be safe, be well, smile, laugh, enjoy each new day you get to wake up to!
i love you.

DeleteI remember being groomed to be an inventory clerk in a warehouse in high school. They never mentioned running your own business or that you can be whatever you choose. I bet they don't groom for inventory clerks in a school in the 90210 area. They want drones and they get lots of them.
ReplyDeletelove this, i am about to hand over part of my sons brain to the government, he start school soon. all i can do is help him jump through the necessary hoops required whilst feeding his brain with curiosity and independant thinking. both his parents are self made, self employed and i hope this will set an example to him.
ReplyDeleteThat's true, but a systemic education is needed in order to comply with the sysntem's rules that you choose to live in.
ReplyDeleteAgreed but unfortunately children don't have much choice and by the time they do - lot's has been 'educated into them'....
DeleteTo change the world all you need do is change yourself for good.
ReplyDeleteSo many replies stating we have no choice and that they hate that their children go to school. Why not home school them? Let them learn the way children are supposed to learn?
ReplyDeleteMath is good to learn.

ReplyDeleteLMAO what stupid school did you all go to? Not allowed to ask Questions? My school taught you to ask questions, enquire, do your research, study, have fun, to stand up to authority, etc etc yada yada the stuff u all expect to hear. But maybe this is just Australia, sounds like American schools are pretty stuffed up. Just go do more shootings n fix up your country.
ReplyDeleteteaching our children to accept the truth from our past generation and dont make the same mistake what they done. the most regretful and most shameful if our next generation did the same and cannot make any different for universal. we must stop all the suffering and destruction all kinds. we are from nature and nature is universal and we are return to nature. this is our home this is where we are from this is greatest give and we become is the our gift. be the best and do the best because we still have the times.
ReplyDeleteHelp!!! I have two kids. My first kid is at second grade and he has some "problems" at school. He asked me why he has to go to school, he says that school in boring. First year was a disaster, his teacher asked me how can I live with him, because he needs so much attention. But teacher in second grade says he is weary intelligent, that he knows much more then other kids and that he wants to know more. but he wants to know more about stuff that is not represented in school. So help me, how can I help my child? System is here and we can't do anything about it. How can I help my child to pass the system and stay in a way as he is??!! I remember once when he was 2 years old, he could speak fluently in our language and there was a conversation that started with one single question and with my simple reply and after my reply he asked me: "Why?" and after my reply, there was another: "Why?" and so on. After 2 hours my last reply was: " I don't know." and he again asked me: "Why?"... I explained him why I can't offer him any more answers and he wasn't satisfied with it. So he asked me when will I be able to offer him an answer...
ReplyDeleteI have read all of the comments. Ok home schooling is one option but who can afford it? Parents must work to provide food for their children. I have to buy food for my 2 boys and pay for clothes etc...
ReplyDeleteplus home schooling is not as easy as it sounds. Each year you have to pass some test, so that the system see that you "fit in" If I would teach my kids stuff it would not be the same as it is in school. And the system would see that... so my son would have to go to school or the system would take him away from me...
I love Jan 19th at 3:27's comments and totally agree. Teaching your children that they can be anything they want to be is so essential in upbringing. As a child and teen, I tried many different hobbies but never felt compelled to commit wholly to just one ideology. While I kick myself a little for not furthering my education in piano, I am not sorry with the person I have become. I think that I am "well rounded". In our society, especially with educational budget cuts, students are encouraged to know what they want to do with THE REST OF THEIR LIFE and go forth to pursue it. This is completely unsupportive of the idea of being a well rounded individual. I agree that in order to have society you need rules or at least boundaries but I am vehemently opposed to teaching children to be "one tracked." This one track mentality is recipe for failure not to mention low self esteem in our children and eventually lack of individualism.
