ReplyDeleteI often think back to what Thomas Paine wrote in Common Sense, “… a long habit of not thinking a thing wrong, gives it a superficial appearance of being right, and raises at first a formidable outcry in defense of custom. But the tumult soon subsides. Time makes more converts than reason …” I have done my best in my life to keep an open mind though when I was younger that was nearly impossible because I was constantly led to believe that we here in the United States are the savior of the world. At some point in my life however a question came to mind, if we’re so superior to the world then why are we guilty of so many acts of violence on innocent people? If we honestly care as a country about the world then why do we spend billions on weapons that will kill millions of people instead of using that money to help the people? Why do we try and make people believe we’re a land of opportunity when opportunity only comes to those of the right color, the right religion, and the right sex? We’re hypocritical at best and though I’m not ashamed at being born here I am ashamed of what this country is, I’m not going to start pointing fingers at any one person however because I am as much to blame as any of them. I was silent when I should have shouted and I turned my back to people I should have opened my arms to. I’ve changed and I am changing, I will be silent no more and my arms will now always be opened to anyone who puts humanity before profit and power.

DeleteI agree with you and salute your positive thinking. I think Humanity as a religion should be promoted everywhere and their should be some universally acceptable guiding principle for tackling illogical authoritative behavior of policing states.

ReplyDeleteIt's just a bad, very bad video. This is the other side of the truth, exactly. Bend to the furthest corner. This has no balance. It has not just the facts. It is bad propaganda. It has an agenda. This it not the right way to to it.
